Adult Autism Assessments

Let us guess, you took an online assessment or heard from an influencer that told you you're autistic? Maybe you were diagnosed with ADHD, borderline personality disorder, Bi-polar, but you don't feel like they are correct or don't encompass your issues. Or maybe you've always felt you were a little neurospicy. Whatever the reason is, we are here to help you turn over another puzzle piece.

What Is Autism Testing?

In 2013 the DSM (Diagnostic, And Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) combined many different types of Autism diagnosis (including Asperger Syndrome) into Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  This has been both a positive and a negative in the neurodivergent community. For the positive, each person can have a unique list of Neurodivergent tendencies that can be indicators of being Autistic. The bad stereotype of Autism has always been the person who is non-verbal/limited vocabulary that loves numbers (Like Raymond Babbitt from the 1988 movie 'Rain Man'). While these individuals might be easier to identify and get help, others may display fewer characteristics and spend a long time trying to understand why certain actives or tasks are challenging. Think Sheldon and Abed Nadir from the hit TV shows 'Big Bang Theory' and 'Community' respectfully. Autism Testing is a way to review your specific neurodivergent tendencies and provide best support and advocacy for you.

What to Expect?

We utilize the MIGDAS-2 (Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum, Second Edition) for our assessment. The assessment can take anywhere from 3-5 hours to complete (usually spread over 3-4 different sessions) and includes a full report with recommendations.

Things to Consider:

  • You must live in the state of Ohio for us to complete the assessment.

  • Currently we are only doing this test virtually. We will have an in-person option in Barberton Ohio hopefully coming this fall 2025.

  • At this time, we are only doing testing for ages 18 and above.

  • This process can cost up to thousands of dollars to complete (Our cost breakdown is below). This is do to the extensive training and time it takes to complete.

  • Your testing clinician is also neurodivergent (you may ask your specific clinician for more information if you'd like. Please note it is up to them on what they disclose). We feel this is important since the space will be neurodivergent affirming.
